1986 - Secret Value of Daydreaming

9 January 1986 - Julian receives his first Grammy nomination as Best New Artist for the 28th Annual Grammy Awards. (He is one of 5 nominated - Sade wins)

17 January 1986 - Julian is interviewed on PM Magazine

23 January 1986 - Julian and Sean present awards at the inauguration launch of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City.

26 January 1986 - Julian presents the Favorite Pop Rock Video award at the American Music Awards to Heuy Lewis and the News for The Power of Love and later tells Paul McCartney that his dad would be as proud as he is when Paul is awarded a Music Merit Award.

February 1986 - The Rolling Stone Readers' Poll names Julian the #1 New Male Singer. Clearly, Julian has been accepted in his own right. Meanwhile, Julian is already hard at work on his second LP.

3 March 1986 - Stick Around, the first single from the new album, is released in the US. Video productions of Stick Around and Want Your Body are produced and directed in Los Angeles by Jerry Kramer and Associates.  The video for Stick Around, features cameo appearances by Michael J. Fox, Joe Piscopo, and Jami Gertz.

10 March 1986 - Stick Around is released in the UK.

22 March 1986 - Stick Around enters Billboard's Hot 100 Singles charts this week at #72.

24 March 1986 - The Secret Value of Daydreaming, Julian's second album, is released in the UK on Charisma/Virgin Records. Produced, as before, by Phil Ramone, the album is recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas and mixed at the Hit Factory in New York City. Joining Julian is a quintet of players from the first tour - Carmine Roja, Justin Clayton, Alan Childs, Chuck Kentis, an Frank Elmo - plus new recruit David Brown on guitar. Among those making cameo appearances include Billy Joel, who tickles the ivories on You Get What You Want.

25 March 1986 - The Secret Value of Daydreaming, Julian's second album, is released in the US on Atlantic Records.

26 April 1986 - Stick Around debuts on the Billboard Top 40. It spends 4 weeks in the Top 40 peaking at #32.

3 May 1986 - Stick Around is #32 on Rick Dee's Weekly Top 40.

6 May 1986 - Dave Clark's musical Time is released on EMI. The double album contains 3 songs by Julian Lennon.

7 May 1986 - Julian performs at the first International Music & Media Conference in Montreux, Switzerland. Shortly after he moves to Switzerland for a year.

10 May 1986 - Stick Around is #32 on Rick Dee's Weekly Top 40.

12 May 1986 - Julian plays his first ever concert in Europe at The Royal Albert Hall in London. This is just one of two dates which where saved from a full European tour set to open on April 27th in Copenhagen. The other dates were canceled due to lack of public interest. Tour dates in US, Australia and Japan go unchanged.

Charisma/Virgin releases This Is My Day as a single from The Secret Value of Daydreaming.

22 May 1986 - The Secret Value of Daydreaming is certified gold by the RIAA.

28, 29 May 1986 - Julian's second North American concert tour begins in Miami, Florida at the James L. Knight Center. The band includes: Justin Clayton (guitar), Doug Worthington (guitar), Carmine Rojas (bass guitar), Chuck Kentis (keyboards), Frank Elmo (saxophone), and Alan Childs (drums).

30 May 1986 - Julian performs at the Orange County Civic Center in Orlando, Florida.

31 May 1986 - Julian performs at the Tampa Sun Dome in Tampa, Florida.
